Day 15. On the home stretch and a great Blood Pressure reading!!

I have to admit that I am looking forward to some solid food in the mornings.  I will keep the shakes a part of my day and will limit – if not eliminate red meat from my menu.   I am on a journey to get my LDL down without statins.

One of the issues I was having was kinda high blood pressure.  Not crazy high, but I just could not seem to get it down to where it used to be.  Growing up I had what was at the time considered “low BP” but now it’s almost considered normal.  I consistently had 115/65 for decades.  It started creeping up when I took over my current company and kept creeping when I started dealing with some folks at work on a day to day basis.  I was exercising, eating well (I thought), going to yoga, meditating, etc.  Nothing really worked.

I was stunned this morning and actually reluctantly dragged out the device thinking “what’s the use”.   It has kind of re-energized me.  It seems like a little victory but my cardiologist would dance around the notion of putting me on BP medication.  “IF it gets a bit higher” and “it’s normal at your age”.  Bullshit….   It is NOT normal and I don’t accept that I should just accept taking pills because it is what we old folks do.

I have one week left and I am already planning what to do next.  How will I incorporate better eating??
